This exquisite antique bangle set, dating back to the mid-late 1800s, showcases the intricate craftsmanship of the Mughal period. Crafted from 19 karat yellow gold, the bangles feature stunning red, blue, and green enamel work, with intricate gold engravings adorning the four hinges. The highlight of the piece is the magnificent elephant head motif, adorned with mesmerizing rose-cut diamonds. Known as kundan jewelry, this traditional Indian art form involves setting gemstones with pure molten gold foil, resulting in opulent and elaborate designs. With a total weight of over 180 grams, this bangle set is a testament to the rich heritage and timeless beauty of Indian jewelry craftsmanship.
This technique is thought to have its roots in the regal courts of Rajasthan and Gujarat, representing one of the ancient jewelry-making traditions in India.
